DataWise Connector
Your MYOB data.
In your own database.
A small program on your PC brings your MYOB information across and puts it in a database you own — automatically, on whatever schedule you choose. Then use it with anything: Excel, Power BI, your own software, or just ask it questions in plain English.
NZ$30
for your first 3 months
Offer ends 30 August 2026
Click here to sign upOne payment, one company file. At the end of three months it simply stops — you choose whether to renew. Nothing is billed automatically.
Your numbers are in MYOB. Getting them out is the hard part.
Endless exporting
Export, open, paste, repeat. Every month, for the same report you built last month.
Reports you can't change
Close to what you wanted, but not quite — and no way to bend it into the shape you actually need.
Data stuck in one place
Your own trading history, and you can only look at it through one window.
So we give you the data itself
Not a report. Not a dashboard someone else designed. A proper database, on your machine, holding your sales, purchases, ledger, contacts, products, jobs and bank lines — kept up to date on its own.
It's yours
On your PC, in a folder you choose. Stop subscribing and the data stays exactly where it is.
Use anything
Excel, Power BI, Access, your own software — anything that reads a database. And if a company is sensitive, you can lock it with a password instead — your choice, per company.
It keeps itself current
Set a schedule and forget it. It runs whether anyone's at the desk or not.
Four steps, once
Then it looks after itself.
Connect to MYOB
Sign in on MYOB's own screen and approve access. We never see your password, and you can withdraw access from inside MYOB whenever you like.
Choose what to sync
Tick the parts you actually use and pick how far back to go. Don't sync stock if you don't sell stock — smaller database, quicker runs.
Set it and forget it
Give it a schedule. It runs unattended whether anyone's at the desk or not, and catches up if the PC was switched off.
Use your data
Point Excel, Power BI or an AI assistant at it. It's an ordinary database — anything that reads one will read this.
It installs in a couple of minutes and creates one database file per company. No server, no database administrator, no IT visit.
What comes across
Full documents, not summaries — headers and line detail, so you can analyse by product or account rather than just invoice totals.
Sales
Invoices, orders, quotes and credits.
Purchases
Bills, purchase orders and payments, line by line.
Banking
Bank statement lines alongside the ledger, in the same database.
General ledger
Every journal, with the account it posted to.
People & jobs
Customers, suppliers, contacts and job tracking.
Products & setup
Items, accounts, tax codes and currencies.
And now — just ask it
Stop building reports
Because the data sits on your machine in a database you own, you can point AI straight at it. No report to build. No filters to set.
It writes the document, not just the answer
Ask for a Word or Excel document and you get a real one — table, chart and written commentary. The sort of thing that used to mean half a day, or a call to your accountant.
And the answers are right
Accounting tables are full of columns that look like the one you want and aren't. Point AI at a raw accounting database and it will confidently pick the wrong one — and hand you a number that looks completely reasonable.
So the Connector ships with a written dictionary of your data: what every field actually means, which one holds the balance owing, how the tables join, and which columns to leave alone. The AI reads that first. It is the difference between an answer that's plausible and an answer you can put in front of your bank.
Asking is optional and is not switched on by default. Your database is never uploaded — but to answer a question the figures it needs are sent to Claude, exactly as anything else you typed into it would be. The detail is under Security below.
Why it stays right
Two schedules, not one
A regular top-up runs often — every few minutes if you want — and asks MYOB only for what has changed. A periodic rebuild runs overnight and re-reads everything from a date you choose, so nothing quietly drifts out of step over months of small changes.
Open balances refresh themselves
Invoices and bills still open get their outstanding balance refreshed on every sync — no box to tick, nothing to remember. Put plainly: you won't ring a customer to chase money they have already paid.
- Ten sync profiles. A sales-only run through the day, a full rebuild at the weekend — whatever suits how you work.
- It catches up. PC switched off when a sync was due? It simply runs next time and picks up everything it missed.
- Run it on demand. Need today's numbers now — trigger a sync yourself.
- Works offline. Once it has synced, you can work on your data with no internet at all.
- A point-in-time record. You keep the history even if something is changed or deleted in MYOB later.
- Many companies, one installation. Run as many MYOB company files as you like from a single install, each with its own database and its own schedule.
Where your data actually goes
There are only two places involved: MYOB, and your computer.
It stays on your PC
Your data goes from MYOB straight to your machine. It is never copied to us or to anyone else.
It only reads
The Connector cannot change, delete or add anything in your MYOB company file.
We never see your password
You sign in on MYOB's own screen. We only hold the access MYOB grants, and you can revoke it.
MYOB → your PC. That is the whole path. No DataWise server in the middle, no cloud storage bucket, and nothing for us to accidentally leave switched on. We can't lose your data, because we never have it — and if we disappeared tomorrow your database would carry on sitting on your machine exactly as it is.
For an accountant being asked by a client where their financial information is held, that is a straightforward answer to give.
And if a company needs more — lock it
Optional, off by default, company by company: set a password in the Connector and that password becomes the encryption key for the company's database file. AES-256, the whole file, on disk — not a login screen sitting in front of a readable file.
- Without the password there is nothing to read. Not from our screens, not from a database browser, not on any computer the file is copied to. A copied folder, an old PC, a lost backup — all meaningless without it.
- Lock only what's sensitive. Each company has its own password. Lock the directors' company and leave the trading companies open — the ones you leave alone carry on exactly as before.
- AI access follows the user. Ask-your-data sees only the companies whose passwords that Windows user holds — never more.
- We never see or store your password, and nobody can recover it. That is what makes it secure. Forget it and the Connector simply rebuilds the company from MYOB — you lose time, never data.
One honest trade: Excel and Power BI's standard connections cannot open a locked company — that is the protection working, and it is why locking is your choice per company rather than something we switch on for you. With the password and an inexpensive SQLCipher-aware driver they still can, and we can build that workbook for you.
What it costs
One price per MYOB company file. However many people use it, on however many computers.
- No charge per person. A three-person office pays the same as a one-person office.
- Unlimited computers. The licence follows the company file, not the machine.
- Install it your way, everywhere. Because the licence lives on the company file, every person working with it sets the Connector up to suit their own environment — the office PC, the laptop on the road, the accountant's system — one licence covering the lot.
- Your accountant doesn't need their own licence to work on your file — and you don't pay twice.
- No storage fees and nothing metered. Your data costs the same in year five as in year one, and no question is ever charged for.
- 14-day free trial on your own real numbers, with no card.
NZ$100 + GST
per company file, per month
Everything on this page is in that price — the sync, both schedules, Ask your data, and every screen anyone ever builds on top of it. Nothing is metered, nothing costs extra later.
Stop any time — the data stays exactly where it is, on your PC, still readable by anything.
Does it earn its keep?
If it saves one hour of exporting, pasting and fixing a month, it has paid for itself. Most businesses were losing that every week.
A three-person office, the laptop on the road and the accountant's system — still one licence, still NZ$100 + GST, because the licence lives on the company file.
Special: NZ$30 for your first three months — ends 30 August 2026. See the card at the top of the page.
See it on your own numbers
Install it, connect one MYOB company file, and you'll be looking at your own data within the hour. Free for 14 days, no card required.
